Adding this testimony published a few days ago by local outlet Karachun about the situation in Sloviansk:

“Do you know how a city dies? I’m not talking about buildings reduced to rubble or burned-out cars on the road. To me, my city dies quietly. When one day you go to a store, and it’s closed. There’s a sign on the door advertising the space for rent, but you know no one will rent it anymore. At least not anytime soon. When you walk your dog in the evening and run into just two or three people during rush hour, whereas just a couple of months ago the city was bustling. And you want to order a pizza for the evening, but four cafes closed last week in our already small town. These are quiet buildings with windows boarded up with particleboard, abandoned animals, and constant posts in local groups: "It's loud in Sloviansk!""
